The UAE has ‘overcome’ the Covid-19 crisis and is on the path to recovery, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has said.

Taking to Instagram, the UAE leader posted a video and a message expressing optimism about emerging from the crisis.

“We overcame the Covid-19 crisis and learned many lessons from the experience. As life in the UAE begins to return to normal, we give thanks to God,” he wrote.

The UAE has seen a steady decline in the number of Covid-19 cases in recent weeks.

On Wednesday, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 156 Covid-19 infections, taking the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 737,229, including 730,309 recoveries.

Three additional deaths due to Covid-19 complications were reported as well, increasing the death toll to 2,107.

The UAE has also reopened schools for all students to resume in-person learning, while the economy has also started to pick up with several companies hiring locally.

The country is also currently hosting Expo 2020 Dubai – the biggest in-person gathering to be held worldwide since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The six-month long event, which began on October 1, has 192 country pavilions and aims to attract 25 million visits from across the world.
