What Determines Eligibility
Applications welcomed from applicants of any Nationality.
Acceptable Course of Study: successful applicants will be awarded for Undergraduate Degree in any subject offered by the University.
To be eligible, the applicants must also meet the following criteria:
- They will need to enroll in a full-time Degree Program at the University.
- Applicants should demonstrate a financial need, including an intention to apply for Government-Student-Aid and/or Indigenous Band Support Funding.
How You Can Apply For The McGill University Entrance Bursary Program
To apply for this Award, applicants are required to register for an Undergraduate Degree Program at the University.
Admitted students will automatically be considered for this type of Entrance Award, when they submit the Entrance Bursary application on Minerva (no separate application is required).
Required Documents: The grants office reserves the right to verify the information that is provided on the application. Inconsistencies will most likely result in a reassessment or cancellation of the applicant’s Award.
Aspirants must have a 95% average on all academic grade 12 and grade 11 level courses, and rank in the top 1-2% of the class.
Applicants are required to demonstrate English Language proficiency by taking a TOEFL or IELTS test and satisfy the English Language requirements of the University.

The University will provide the Entrance Bursaries range in value, and Award amounts will be determined by the level of need, demonstrated by the student and their family, relative to other applicants and the tuition fee rate, charged based on the program of study and student residency (Quebec, rest of Canada, US, International).
