In a bid to reward outstanding students, the University of Canterbury is inviting interested candidates to become a part of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan for the academic year 2020-2021.

The grant is available to students from the UK and Canada.

Established in 1873, the University of Canterbury is the second oldest University in New Zealand.

It was first founded in 1873 as Canterbury College, the first constituent college of the University of New Zealand. Its original campus was in the Christchurch Central City, but in 1961 it became an independent University.

What Determines Eligibility?

Students from the UK and Canada are eligible to apply for this program.

Acceptable Course of Study: The award is available to students seeking to pursue a Doctoral Degree Program in all subjects offered by the University.

In order to be deemed eligible for the opportunity, applicants should have completed, or be in the process of completing, a research-focused Honours Degree or Master’s Degree.
