Auto giant Audi Middle East has reported that April 2022 had been their best sales month since December 2016 and the best sales month for the e-tron GT, its flagship EV.
It also reported the strongest Ramadan performance in the region since 2015.
Witnessing a rise of sales by 8 per cent in the first quarter, followed through with solid sales in the second quarter. Audi is also reporting a year-on-year sales increase of 65.7 per cent.
With the e-tron GT reporting strong sales numbers, the other popular models with growing sales numbers are the Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8, which showed increased sales numbers by 60 per cent, 129 per cent, 43 per cent, and 133 per cent, respectively.
Carsten Bender, managing director of Audi Middle East, said, “Despite the current market and economic challenges, we have remained disciplined and competitive in our approach, especially on our journey towards electrification – thanks to our Audi e-tron range. Our second quarter began with April emerging best month of sales for Audi since December 2016, which was fuelled by the attractivity of Audi’s full model range. These key financial figures confirm that we are on the right course for the remainder of the year.”
Audi AG also reported a positive first quarter globally, where it increased its revenue to €14,282m (Q1 2021: €14,067 million). At €3,468m, operating profit reached a new high in the first quarter (Q1 2021: €1,404m).
Audi AG is forecasted to deliver between 1.8 and 1.9m vehicles across the group’s different brands and achieve an operating margin of 9 to 11 per cent for the remainder of the year.
